This trail is a really hoot You can't go wrong adding this to your ride at Heil!
So many people want to ride this clockwise (from the overlook past Picture Rock and then up to Wapiti), but they are missing out. Okay, to be clear, going clockwise is fun. There's a swoopy part in the middle through the trees. If you're a cross-country style rider who wants to swoop and hoot, go this way. I hear a lot of swooping and hooting when I'm riding here. The downside is you've got a gnarly, fairly technical climb for a mile or so at the end. It's not my bag though, baby.
Going counter-clockwise, you get this amazing kinda technical downhill! Bumps, doubles, drops, cool bermy turns (oh my)! There are so many fun obstacles going this way, it giggle myself hoarse every time I do it. Then, you have this really nice, mellow, smooth trail climbs out to the overlook. Do this trail as part of the Van Hagar and you'll have a great afternoon ride!
